NIDEK ARK-1a Auto Refractometer
Fast. Accurate. Patient-friendly. Objective refraction and keratometry in one compact unit.
The NIDEK ARK-1a is an advanced auto-refractometer / keratometer that delivers fast, repeatable
objective refraction and corneal curvature measurements. Designed for busy clinics, it combines
high-quality imaging, eye-tracking alignment and retro-illumination imaging for quick opacity assessment.
Key features
- Accurate objective refraction with fogging and wide-area (large pupil zone) measurement
- Integrated keratometry (mire-ring method) for reliable corneal curvature data
- Retroillumination image for simple opacity/cataract assessment
- Eye-tracking (X–Y–Z) for fast alignment and auto-shoot capability
- Super Luminescent Diode (SLD) illumination for sharper images and better performance through opacities
- 6.5″ full-color LCD display and high-speed built-in printer (optional connectivity)
- Patient-friendly accommodation measurement and visual acuity / glare test support

Benefits for clinics & practitioners
- Speeds up refraction workflow and reduces chair time.
- Improves measurement reliability even in partially opaque media (e.g., cataracts).
- Combines refraction + keratometry in a single footprint — saves space.
- Easy to operate: auto-tracking and auto-shoot lower operator dependency.
